Macy’s and Tangela Cummings of Admardecor’ Event Deisgn

Imagine opening up your email and there sitting in your in-box is a message from Macy’s Special Events department requesting that you be highlighted in one of their 3-largest stores in the world as an Event Designer. The room grows dark, the beam of light illuminating from my Mac computer starts to grow stronger and my fingers freeze over the keyboard. “Me!, Really, Macy’s wants me.”, these were the words that escaped my lips. I paused in unbelief.
What an opportunity that was just afforded to me. To be associated with such a reputable name like Macy’s that are tied to celebrities as: Martha Stewart, Jessica Simpson, Usher, Queen Latifah, Donald Trump and so many others is a remarkable honor.
Once everything was confirmed, I didn’t have much time to start gathering my thoughts and putting my ideas together. I knew I wanted to do a Holiday Christmas Candy Table . . . I called it “Santa’s Candy Cane Workshop”. Macy’s requested that I set-up 4 round table displays and a 6ft table “fantasy display”. My fantasy display table pictures came out too blurry and I didn’t post them in this post. The pictures highlighted in the two post are my candy table and my Country Christmas Brunch table.
In addition to setting up tables to display my creativity and designs, I was also a presenter. I had the privilege to speak to a large audience of Macy’s shoppers and specially invited guest about how to decorate for the holidays. I told you, this was a remarkable honor.
To make a long story short, the event was a success. I had a fabulous time and I can’t wait to do it again. I have to give a big shout out to the Macy’s special events coordinators Linda Kelly and Danielle McLaughlin. Thank you guys so much for believing in me and providing me with this opportunity. Also a big thank you to my Mom (Linda O’Neal), a major help to me, Hubby (Harold Cummings), my best friend and supporter, sister (Sabrina O’Neal), my right hand designer and inspiration and last but not least, my niece (Tieara Bell) the future of Admardecor. You guys worked so hard helping me prepare and set-up for the event. I love you guys.
To my best friend Chantal French who manages Admardecor’ Virgina and Jerry Celestine, who handles all regional sales, you guys are the greatest. Chantal your mental and physical support on every event means the world to me. You are a true friend and inspiration to me. Thank you so much for every word of encouragement, for every minute that you loss sleep assisting me and for the many hours you spend on a plane flying back and forth. I appreciate you and the woman you are. I know God placed you in my life.
This proves that you never know what God has planned for you. I never take these moments in my life for granted. I know I am blessed.
